I’ve pnp’ed this class but I’m really nervous that I’m not gonna pass because I haven’t been doing well on the projects or the exams so far. Any recommendations would help :)

2021.11.29 02:44 hundredcreeper My experience with music so far(at least listening to it)
Music has been very very important in my life and the only reason I wanna make this post is just because... i can, I don't know.
I'm one of those people who ALWAYS have a song playing in their head. Whether it's a song I know well, or something I just know the chorus to, there's something playing. So as you can imagine, I'm humming or tapping my fingers to a song that's only in my head. I'm not crazy
I'd say my real appreciation for music started mid to late 2020 when I started listening to the 70s-80s rock band Electric Light Orchestra. Honestly I knew one of the songs before I even knew the band name.
Mr. Blue Sky seems to be a song almost everyone knows, even if not by name. This was, of course, one of ELO's songs. I loved the song and memorized every verse and sound that came with the song. Eventually I decided "why not see who the band is?" And boom, my love for ELO started. I can't say I remember the first song, but I would listen a lot on the school bus. At first it was "this is pretty good", but of course I didn't think much of it. It was only about the beginning of this year that I really started loving it all.
As a 14 year old in 2020, there wasn't any kids(at least from my experience) who liked the songs of the late 20th century. A lot of the people I knew listened to modern rap. Not my kind of music, I never could get into it.
So I went on this journey on my own. I started listening to the album Out of the Blue(which is the album with Mr. Blue Sky) and I loved it. Jeff lynne's music grabbed me then and there. Other albums and songs I didn't care much for as mentioned earlier. But as a 14 year old with divorced parents, my life was starting to go downhill. I didn't get sick or anything, but stress came from nowhere constantly. And I found ELO to be my escape from the stress. I eventually moved back to my mom's (i lived with her for 12 years, but I moved to my dad's for 2 years) and the stress(at least most of the stress) went away. I still loved ELO though. I found a "Best of" compilation CD at Walmart and got it. This was all in about May 2021, keep in mind. I kept listening and listening. And its all I really listen to anymore. i like other artists of course, but I never really listen to them.
Singing is another thing I love, and I do play two instruments, being the Flute and the Ocarina. But Jeff Lynne has a pretty good range. Definitely not Freddie Mercury range good, but still good. And its really about the same range I have, so another win for me. Of course, my voice still sounds high pitched and pre pubescent, but oh well. I cant sing in front of people because of that.
But still, I loved to sing, so I always did at home, and still do. Now I'm 15 as of November 6th and own 4 ELO albums in vinyl. I still love the band with my heart, and I'm trying to listen to more music, even if those attempts are failing.
My point in all this is: if you love music, good. Its actually really good for mental health and stress relieving. Never take it for granted. Without ELO I probably wouldn't even be here today.

2021.11.29 02:44 ike99jr Roommates have cats and they're causing a stink
As the title says, college roommates have two cats and they smell pretty awful. Aside from having a conversation with them, what can i do to ensure my room smells decent and cat free? The cats aren't ever in my room but the smell seeps in. Would a candle or something like that work? Regarding the shared living spaces where the cats are found, what can be done for the smell there? I belive they just recently started not using just the litterbox to pee which is the cause of the worsened cat smell.

2021.11.29 02:44 bigtitmother Husband changed the password to his phone
He made the biggest deal about me only having Face ID. This was a while ago. And he said I was cheating on him. So I put a password on my phone and gave let him know what it was. I’ve always known his password. He’s never hidden it from me. We took our dogs to get pictures done and they were on his phone. I went to open his phone because I wanted to look at the pictures and he changed his password. He’s asleep right now that’s why I’m posting this because I can’t ask him about it now. I plan to talk to him about it when he wakes up. Just cracks me up that he threw the biggest fit about me and now look at him.

2021.11.29 02:44 thingsandstuffandwut Catholic adoptions pre roe v wade
(Burner account here)
Hit a brick wall doing some ancestry work on one side of my family.
On my one side I’m back to the 1700s in Poland… on the other, my grandmother had a first marriage I’m struggling to find any info on other than the marriage certificate for her second marriage and a maiden name.
I also know she had a child that she put up for adoption I believe in Oklahoma but not sure right before roe v wade passed.
(This isn’t a major family secret - our family and the biological child know)
is there any good resources towards finding more info about her first marriage + related ?
Stumped on where to look and also find this a unique piece of family history.

2021.11.29 02:44 cademan44 Hello! I am new to the Seattle area, and looking for “the spot” for Hawaiian food.
Please help a new transplant find a spot to get the goods for traditional Hawaiian. My college town (Corvallis, Oregon) had a place called local boyz and since leaving I can’t find a mix plate quite like theirs.

2021.11.29 02:44 PichardRetty UE5 and the lack of tessellation/displacement.
Hi there. I'm not really a dev or anything of that nature. I purely model as a hobby on Blender and mess around in Unreal barely. At the moment the current project I'm starting on on UE5 is just a street with a sidewalk and a few buildings.
I'll build on the street over time and eventually have a small map of my creations to walk around and look at inside of Unreal. It's nothing overly complicated.
An issue I am seeing right now is with UE5 it looks as if Displacement and Tessellation are not current features at the moment. I have a simple street and sidewalk imported into UE5, but they look rather bland in UE5 right now despite using Quixel Megascans materials due to them simply being flat textures.
Since I'm a hobbyist and not a dev nor an artist I was wondering what the best workflow would be to get some geometry on some assets. For example, if I want to create a brick wall with depth that isn't a flat texture I'll literally need to create a mesh that has the actual geometry of a brick wall. It's certainly doable and not that complicated, but is obviously more work than create a flat plane and then throwing a Quixel material on it that has displacement built into it to give it a 3D look.
Are there alternative methods I'm unaware of due to my lack of experience in the field or is UE5 and Nanite going to lead to me needing to spend more time creating more complex meshes since I won't be able to rely on materials with displacement maps to give my objects a more complex geometry?

2021.11.29 02:44 Fun_Cockroach_5284 I need advice with a girl
So I know she likes me. We went on a first date a few days ago at a sort of out door shopping place that’s got restaurants and stuff, but that’s not important. What’s important is that we walked around the place for like, 2 hours just talking. Then, the next day, I went to her and her friend’s birthday party and we both talked for a while and we’re on the same team for family feud. We also text all the time and she starts a good bit of conversations. So from this, I’m 99% sure she likes me, but I don’t know what to do next. My plan was to ask her out for this Friday and take her to dinner or the movies and make my move the to kinda move from the “thing” stage by holding her hand or putting my arm around her during the movie or something (I haven’t planned it out). But I need advice. Is this a good idea, or should I do something else?
